The Jeep Wagoneer is coming back—a legendary name from the brand’s back catalog, previously used on the ancestors of today’s mainstream SUVs. It will complement the more luxurious Grand Wagoneer to create a family of three-row, truck-based SUVs for the Jeep brand, both of which target domestic and import stalwarts. We’ve already seen the Grand Wagoneer concept, and we expect the regular Wagoneer to emerge as a slightly more mainstream take on the concept’s broad strokes.
Where Does the Wagoneer Fit in Jeep’s SUV Lineup? That’s the big question among observers, and a key clue is hiding in plain sight right on the Grand Wagoneer concept: a lack of Jeep badging. Like the new Ford Bronco “family,” Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will serve as a subbrand under the broader Jeep umbrella. Both will sit atop the Grand Cherokee in the lineup, and both will use the same Ram 1500-based platform and three-row layout.
How Will [...]When the current GMC Sierra 1500 debuted, we applauded the truck for finally differentiating itself from its slightly-(slightly) lower-market Chevrolet Silverado 1500 sibling. One key differentiator? An exclusive, optional reconfigurable tailgate that can alternately act as a work surface, a step into the bed, or a load stop depending on how you position it. But now, we’re learning that the handy tailgate will trickle down to the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado.
There will be one small difference: While GMC calls the innovation the “MultiPro” tailgate, Chevrolet dubs its version the “Multi-Flex” tailgate. At the end of the day, it’s the same “multi” thing. On both trucks, the tailgate offers six unique configurations. Along with the aforementioned capabilities, the tailgate can fold flat with the pickup box floor for easier loading and unloading, provide a load stop for long items in a special upper tier of storage, or serve as a traditional tailgate. Chevrolet says the special [...]
Le Mans, 1968, the way it was meant to sound: the rolling thunder of the 7.0-liter Ford GT40s, the screaming howl of the Ferrari P4s, the edgy rasp of the Porsche 908s, and the metallic snarl of the mid-engine, V-12-powered Jaguar XJ13. The thought of this impossibly low-slung British Racing Green roadster running wheel to wheel down the Mulsanne Straight with scarlet Ferraris, big-banger Fords, and scrappy Porsches is enough to get any enthusiast’s pulse racing. Of course, it never happened. But to wriggle into the one and only XJ13’s snug cockpit, grasp the well-worn wood-rimmed steering wheel, and fire up the fuel-injected V-12 nestling in the small of your back is to get a tantalizing taste of the glorious spectacle it would have been.
The XJ13 grew out of a program that started in the 1960s to develop a V-12 for Jaguar road cars. By 1964, a prototype quad-cam, 5.0-liter V-12 with SU carburetors [...]
For better or worse, we’ve called the Portofino an everyday Ferrari—a very good, but not great, car from Maranello. That’s less of a criticism and more an observation of the real purpose of the entry-level Ferrari drop-top. We have already found it to be fast, elegant, refined, and luxuriously equipped—it’s faint praise only when you consider the other prancing horses in the stable. And with the 2021 Portofino M, Ferrari is refining the formula even further.
M stands for modificata, or modification, signaling an evolution of the existing model. Consider it a mid-cycle refresh. The real news here is that the Portofino M adopts the eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission from its fixed-top Roma sibling, a unit that debuted in the incredible SF90 Stradale. The Portofino M uses variable boost management to match torque output to the gear selected, limiting maximum torque to only the top two gears.

UPDATE: Audi has confirmed a few things about the U.S.-spec S3 that we suspected earlier. For one, the Sportback isn’t coming—no surprise there. And the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic will be the only transmission option for the standard turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. It also seems like the striking Python Yellow exterior paint seen on the “Edition One” Sportback will come here in some form. However, we don’t have official power figures for the U.S. model, nor do we have pricing or an on-sale date quite yet. We’ll update this post further when we have those.
The outgoing Audi S3’s understated appearance doesn’t quite match its strong power output and hearty exhaust note, but that all is fixed now that Audi has given the sporty compact a makeover. It will no longer be such an outward wallflower. With a full redesign, Audi has equipped the S3 with a more memorable exterior design to go with its even greater [...]
