Googling things sometimes turns up more than just search results. Take Wes Eisenschenk’s discovery of a long lost, incredibly rare 1969 Ford Bronco prototype, which came up after he plugged the rig’s serial number into Google in 2016. As he puts it: “There it was, the missing 1969 Ford Boss Bronco prototype, in an expired eBay listing.” The internet had dredged up what amounts to a 40 years too early Ford Bronco Raptor ideated at the peak of the muscle-car era.
What Is a Boss Bronco?A Boss Bronco? Yes, Ford built a prototype high-performance Boss Bronco 4×4 in 1969 at its legendary clandestine enterprise Kar-Kraft. The burly SUV featured a blueprinted 1969 Mustang Shelby GT 350 engine, a Hi-Po C4 automatic transmission, and 4.11 limited-slip gears front and rear, among other truly muscular details. Somehow, the one-of-one Boss Bronco survived under the radar for more than 40 years in fantastic original condition.

Mil-Spec Automotive, a company specializing in high-end bespoke custom builds located in Birmingham, Michigan, is at it again with another luxuriously menacing AM General Hummer H1. Consistent with all of the company’s builds, the finished product—it has a customer—is packed with finely crafted details that slightly bewilder by their appearance in an H1: plush leather, machined accessories, high-end finishes, above-and-beyond build quality, redesigned parts, engineered upgrades, and functional bling. Simply put, it excels at everything you’d never imagine doing to the civilian version of the no-frills military M998 Humvee, a rig that’s loud, utilitarian, and build to be thrashed and bashed. The Mil-Spec H1 can hang with the supercars in VIP valet lots, hold its own in a patriotic parade, or hit up the local trail with a pack of 4×4 overland rigs.
This Mil-Spec Automotive Hummer H1 has a proper powerplant in its 6.6-liter Duramax, which may remind you of the Hummer H1 Alpha [...]
First off, in the interest of full disclosure, we don’t know any more about the fate of the 7th generation Chevy Camaro than most online psychics. The only people that do know, at GM, have a habit of saying almost nothing about anything future product related. But speculation is fun. It was a great chance to have our friend, vehicle designer Micheal Castiglione, sketch up what he thought a 7th gen Camaro could look like in this age of MPG-driven aerodynamics. You can see more of Castiglione’s rendering artwork HERE. He does the Week To Wicked art, so check him out.
That said, it’s starting to look like 2023 will be a repeat of the year 2002 for the Camaro and its legion of fans. Those that remember the dark days of ’02, when the 4th gen Camaro ceased production with no replacement in sight, will get a [...]
If you missed out on Jaguar’s limited-edition run of six E-type Lightweight continuation cars at $1.6 million a pop, you might be interested in this. Eagle, a U.K. company best known for its exemplary Jaguar E-type restomods, has announced it will start taking orders for its new Eagle Lightweight GT, a car Eagle says “ … is the ultimate road-going evolution of the world’s rarest and most beautiful race cars, Jaguar’s Lightweight E-type … thoughtfully and comprehensively re-engineered.” Eagle doesn’t mention a cost, but we’re sure its less than the $7.37 million an original E-type Lightweight sold for in 2017.
The 8,000-hour process to build an Eagle Lightweight GT starts with stripping down an original Series 1 Jaguar E-type and replacing its original steel bodywork with aluminum in a more durable grade than the original Lightweight E-types. This alone takes nearly 2,500 hours, Eagle says. Other changes are made for improved drivability, including deeper side [...]
Dale Earnhardt Jr. may no longer spend his weekends competing in NASCAR, but the North Carolina native’s mark on the sport remains as deep as ever. So why not let the world know you’re a Dale Jr. fan by bidding on one of his old racing machines?
This NASCAR Chevy was driven by the son of the Intimidator himself on five occasions between 2012 and 2014, according to documents provided to RM Sotheby’s. Set up specifically for road course duty, this bow-tie-badged race car took Jr. to a third-place finish at Sonoma in 2014. Its four other outings, however, were less successful, with the car reportedly placing 28th at its inaugural race at Watkins Glen in 2012, 12th at Sonoma in 2013, and 30th and 11th at Watkins Glen in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
