The current Toyota Corolla hasn’t been with us for very long. The aggressive-looking five-door hatchback model first made its debut in the middle of 2018, and has since been joined by a similarly wide-mouthed four-door sedan variant. Despite its relative youth and visual edge, Toyota has decided to make the new Corolla a little spicier still with a new special-edition hatchback for 2021. The automaker has gone the literal route naming the car, too, dubbing it the Toyota Corolla Special Edition. You could fit your many better name ideas in the Corolla’s spacious cargo area, but we digress.

At least the paint job is sweet—both in name and appearance. Every 2021 Toyota Corolla hatchback Special Edition will wear Supersonic Red paint, which in these photos resembles Mazda’s gorgeous Soul Red hue. Each one also gets sportier looking side skirts, some extra cladding on the front bumper for a slightly angrier demeanor, and a very racey [...]

The coolest luxury car technologies of today often become features on mainstream cars tomorrow. Take cruise control as an example; today, nearly every new car has it except for specialized performance models and base trims of entry-level cars. But what is adaptive cruise control? And is it worth using?

How Adaptive Cruise Control Works (and Its Limitations)

Adaptive cruise control layers convenience onto non-adaptive systems, which can maintain a desired speed on the highway. That alone alleviates the stress of long road trips by minimizing the amount of time you use the accelerator. Adaptive cruise control takes that convenience a step further by allowing the driver to set a desired speed and following distance from any vehicle that may be ahead. If a slower vehicle moves in front of you, the system will automatically slow to maintain your pre-set following distance and then accelerate again to your originally set speed once the vehicle moves out [...]

Today’s customers expect vehicles to offer confident performance and a spacious and comfortable interior with the latest technologies, no matter whether it’s a mainstream or luxury car. Ford and Lincoln have brought the goods to their respective three-row SUVs debuting for 2020. But is the Lincoln Aviator really worth the big price premium over its mainstream sibling, the Ford Explorer? Find out how the two vehicles stack up in our 2020 Ford Explorer vs. 2020 Lincoln Aviator comparison.

Which Has More Interior Space?

Overall, both SUVs are spacious. Accessing the third row is easy since the seats in the second row move forward with the push of a button. Once you’ve reached the back row, space is rather tight, but that’s a typical complaint for the three-row SUV segment.

The Explorer wins in a few key metrics when it comes to interior space. It offers more cargo space [...]

We haven’t seen many major new-vehicle reveals this year for obvious reasons, but a very big one is coming next month. On June 25, Ford will drop the covers on the next-generation F-150 pickup. Mike Levine, Ford’s North America product communications manager, shared the news on Twitter earlier today.

BAM! The all-new Ford F-150 will be revealed on Thursday, June 25 at 8 pm ET. #BuiltFordTough #FordF150 pic.twitter.com/oO6NLZ99Vo

We already know a lot about the 2021 Ford F-150, though. For one, the new truck will adopt design cues from the recently refreshed Ford F-Series Super Duty, as such expect the full-size F-150’s grille, hood, and lights to sport an appearance that mimics that of the bigger Blue Oval pickups. We also know the upcoming F-150 will sit on a new frame that supports a plug-in gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain. It’s likely the F-150’s hybrid variant won’t be ready at [...]
