Big, gas-guzzling trucks and SUVs are so passé. What the world wants now are big, electric trucks and SUVs. Just look at the Tesla Cybertruck or upcoming GMC Hummer EV. Or even this beast: the AmorTruck.

Designed and rendered by Milen Ivanov, the ArmorTruck looks like the lovechild of the Tumbler from the Dark Knight trilogy and a Warthog from the Halo video game series—with some Rezvani Tank overtones, too. And we’re here for it.

Of course, we’re merely assuming the ArmorTruck relies on an electric motor or two (or more) for motivation given Ivanov writes that the SUV “can be driven on any surface, no [...]

If you think exceeding your local speed limits by 5 or 10 mph is living on the edge, well, you’re practically asleep compared to one Michigan driver who was just ticketed for going 110 mph over the posted limit. As reported by MLive, the driver of a 2016 Dodge was clocked by a stationary Michigan State Police patrol traveling 180 mph on I-75 in Monroe County, south of Detroit near Toledo, Ohio, on April 19. The speed limit there is 70 mph.

Before we go any further, we must put our adult hats on and remind everyone that flagrantly violating traffic laws is something we don’t condone and something you should not do. Also, approaching 200 mph on public roads is insane and wildly dangerous. In a since-deleted tweet announcing the ticket, the Michigan State Police backs up that sentiment. It was quoted by MLive saying “MSP has seen an increase with high speeds on [...]

Just weeks after the Ford Mustang Mach-E’s vehicle engineering manager, Rob Iorio, told The Detroit News that “You can’t just hit the pause button” on the program, there are rumblings that the pandemic has, in fact, hit the pause button on the Mach-E’s launch. The virus will impact deliveries, with the Detroit Free Press reporting that some customers in Europe, which was to get the Mach-E slightly before U.S. customers, will have their deliveries pushed back to November 2020.

While Ford has been able to continue work on the project despite remote work situations for many of its engineers, production appears to be impacted as factories and suppliers remain disrupted by the coronavirus situation. Norway, according to the Detroit Free Press’s source, will be the first impacted.

A Ford spokesperson sent us a prepared statement in response to the Detroit Free Press report: “We’ll have more details to share on the timing of our upcoming [...]

You might be currently thinking one of these three questions: “What is that thing?” or “Where do you take that thing?” or “What’s in the back?” The short answers: John Marshall’s 2005 Mercedes-Benz Unimog U500 expedition camper; everywhere; and everything.

The Unimog in general still manages to give many people a case of the verklempts, simply because the vehicle has remained a rare breed to find on the trail (not to mention on the street). But as Marshall pointed out, the Mercedes-Benz Unimog U500 is perhaps the most advanced and capable off-road vehicle ever made, with three locking differentials and three transfer-case ratios to select at the touch of a finger. First gear in low range is so low—at well over 4,000:1—it will move about 40 inches per minute at redline rpm.

How Much Does a Unimog Cost?

With those kinds of impressive genes, why don’t we see [...]
